Xbee and Attopilot voltage sensor on a solar panel

I picked up an xbee and an autopilot which allows me to remotely monitor the voltage and current coming down from my solar system. This has allowed me to graph the output to my web site and keep the history for review of each season.

How To Build A Solar Panel – Part 1

Watch in HD www.solartechtown.com I, Robert Smith, show you every step I take to building a custom made solar panel from scratch. I explain in detail about each item I use and why to use it, so the video is fairly long. I will be hosting the majority of the video on my own server so you can view it all in one take. It will take time to edit the video, but the more of you that subscribe to the video, the faster I’ll try to get it out to you guys as it just shows that people are interested and appreciate what I’m doing, as I’m providing this video for free unlike some videos you see on YouTube. The method I described in this video is just one way to go about it, however, there are many ways you can build a custom solar panel. Some use aluminum or plastic frames, but I found for a beginner, working with wood would probably be easier and cheaper. Overall, building a solar panel can be fun, but there are many factors that play into building a solar panel, and I as well still have an extreme amount to still learn about it. So I hope that for those wanting to learn more about solar energy and wanting to take the adventure of building their own solar panel will find this video very useful. To watch to full video just video, just visit www.solartechtown.com Again the video is fairly large, so to prevent from having to put 6 or 7 parts on youtube in 10 minute sections, I’m just going to host in on my server. If you all have ANY questions, feel free to leave a comment under the

Green Job Training 80 WATT SOLAR PANEL Grid Tie Inverter Direct Monocrystalline

Green Jobs Training. www.greenpowerscience.com SOLAR PANELS SOLAR CO-OP This is a Monocrystalline Solar panel rated at 80 watts. This panel in direct sunlight can power a GTI Grid tie inverter providing 63 watts AC alternating current supplementing the power consumption from the electric company grid. The GTI is a 200 watt version. 3 panels would be needed in parallel to run direct at full power.

How to build a Solar Panel from Solar Cells DIY Part 1

How to build a Solar Panel from Solar Cells DIY Part 1 This is a video of how I build solar panels from single solar cells wired in series. This is a great DIY “do it yourself” Green power project. These solar panels are very powerful and following these steps you will be able to make them for 1/3 of what they sell them for in the stores. If your looking to get off the grid or just drop your electric bill this is perfect for you! Stay tuned for up and coming parts. I will seal these solar panels and test them in up and coming videos. We will even show how we install it on my own home and how I connect it to our grid tie inverter. I hope you enjoy the video. All the best, -Pete Mixcat.com mixcatcom

DIY Solar Panel System Cost

www.solardave.com SolarDave: Please tell me about your solar panel system and how you saved some money? Adam Stevenson: The total of the system and materials was $22K. I ended up spending about another $1800 in permit fees and a structural engineer and $400 for an electrician, several hundred dollars for a guy to come help me out for the two afternoons he spent with me. Xcel (Energy) gave me $16538 rebate. Fix cost based on the number of kilowatts you are installing and has nothing to do with how much you pay the permit office or the electrician. My final cost after rebate was $7237. (SolarDave note: that is cheap!) I started my research in solar probably about a year before I actually installed it went and got a couple of bids from some of the local solar people both from contractors that my friends have used as well as just searching the internet and while talking to one of the guys I find of developed a good feeling from him, and I asked the question “Would it be possible to do some of the work myself” and kind of learn along the way he said “Sure I absolutely support the do-it-yourself-er (DIY) so I said why don’t you throw me bids, what it would cost just come home and have solar one day and what it would cost to have it done where I do some or all the work myself. And throw them both to me and I said let’s try the second one. The guys name is Steve Cross from Sun Spot Solar. I gave him my electric bills and said this is how much I think I need to generate and he

Sun Tracking Solar Panel w/ Arduino

I had some little solar panels laying around and wanted to see if they would power the Arduino. They did. So, I wanted to see if I could make a sun tracking circuit to autonomously follow the sun throughout the day. So I did. Here is the result. If you wanna try it, you can download at: code.google.com … The code is not perfect or commented. Enjoy
