Healthy Byte: Making an Eco-Friendly Soft Scrub
You can use this scrub on countertops and the sink; it’s also great for bathtubs and shower stalls. We recommend to make only as much as you will use in one cleaning session, because it dries out quickly. Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/8 cup of castile soap and 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin. For scent add 10 drops of essential oil, such as lavender or rose (optional). Visit www.healthychild.org for more helpful tips.
Healthy Byte: Make Your Own Nontoxic Disinfecting Cleaner
You'll need two cups of water (preferably distilled water), 1 1/2 to 3 teaspoons of liquid castile soap, 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil and a re-purpose spray bottle. Fill the spray bottle with the water, add the castile soap and tea tree oil. Close the bottle, shake it up and it's ready for you to use on any surface in your home.
