For those who are wondering, just got off the canadian government energy website. They say that a thunderstorm could fry your solar panel and/or the electronics behind even if properly grounded. The same for radios linked to external antennaes. The solution would be to install everything, then disconnect the components completely keeping the fixations then have a spare in
an underground faraday cage. Oh and dont let the cables dangling to the inside of the F. Cage!!! Then after shtf, reinstall
Thanks for another great video. You make them very interesting to watch with a little added anticipation.. Love the intro.. May need a intro design one day when i get ready to put up a vid. Thanks again to you Furbar..
Stay safe putting them up there, sometimes I wished I had a little more sun up north here but I don’t care for the heat that goes with it good luck with the install.
They generate PV electricity and panels come with a +/- rating normally. So if they say 100 its normally less. Unless you buy the expensive one’s they all have a negative rating. I know because I have built my own and I work part time for a solar company. Good video and very smart move going solar. You got a good deal brother.
@OBXSOLWIND I was just messing with you about setting thebar my friend. I want to thank you again for helping me on my system when I was first starting out. I m going to shoot a vid on the add on install.
Take care my friend and God bless..
Thats awsome that you are adding on..Thats what its all about..I will be adding on as well…I never intended to set a bar for folks here on YT just wanted to share info.. Any system serves its purpose in security and sense of mind. Looking forward to your insall..
Ok I am back from going to listen to this intro song in full..love it! If we ever get to were I think we are fine on stored food, I would love to do the solar panels. I looked into wnd turbines too, but I am not sure I can wrap my head around those. Solar panels I am fairly sure I could manage. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a great one
Man I am glad you used that intro. It is awesome! If I had your money I would throw mine away…lol Thanks for sharing brother and what was that card number again..lol I got to get going on mine.
Not a bad deal for those……..I can’t stand those MC4 connectors, just because of the high price for the cables. I did like you and cut those things off and used wire nuts. A year later not a single issue with the connections.
I have a few of those lavie panels (3 and 4 watt) tied in with larger panels….They seem just as high of quality as the UL solar panels.
43 second intro
holy fuck man
hey fubar are the kits from HF any good
great video,cant wait for more.

Awesome video. Cant wait to see them installed.
Solar is great. Adding on is the way to go. Also keep extra panels and parts for replacement. Nice job.
KEEP ON PREPPING
Ya Kevin did set the bar, he has a nice setup
Do you have any wind turbines? I have a buddy who has a hybrid(solar/wind) system.
how durable are those panels in a hailstorm?

Awesome man. Glad to see your adding on. Hopefully some day I can afford it. Keep us posted.-Nate

I got one 125 watt panel on ebay for $245 including shipping. I put together a 12volt swamp cooler, and its great. I’ve got a video up on it.
